Cabinet Lines

Mouser Cabinetry offers high-quality custom cabinetry crafted from select woods. With over 65 years of experience, each piece is meticulously finished for durability and beauty.

Use and Care of your Mouser Cabinets

Mouser Cabinetry manufactures the finest cabinetry available, cabinetry that will give you years of trouble-free service when it is installed and cared for as we recommend. Mouser’s stained and solid color cabinetry is produced using the best finishing products available and are applied to select grades of solid woods, wood veneers, and MDF materials. Because our cabinetry is built from wood products, it should be cared for like wood furniture, even our solid color products. Our MDF door styles must be cleaned with products intended for wood. MDF is not a waterproof material. Even though it has the appearance of a laminate once it is finished, water will still penetrate through solid color material and cause the wood fibers to swell, particularly in profiled areas.

Wood Products

Mouser cabinets have a tough, durable catalyzed varnish finish which is highly resistant to moisture and household chemicals. We recommend you use Guardsman Furniture Polish at least monthly to keep your cabinets well protected and looking good. Guardsman Furniture Care Products are available at local furniture stores or the housewares department of many discount stores. To remove oil, grease or daily spills, use a clean, damp cloth, then dry thoroughly. Do not use dishcloths, harsh detergents, abrasive cleaners, spray cleaners, strong soaps or paste wax.

Laminate Products Regular Care and Cleaning

Always use a cotton cloth, non-abrasive sponge, or microfiber cloth. Wipe with a damp cloth or sponge with mild dish soap. For oily or tacky surfaces wipe with a damp cloth or sponge using a 50/50 mix of water and Simple Green Brand cleaner.

Laminate Products Cleaning of Stains (Infrequent Care)

Always use a cotton cloth, non-abrasive sponge, or microfiber cloth.

  • Step 1: Using a damp cloth or sponge with a 50/50 mix of water and Simple Green, scrub lightly for 10 to 20 strokes. This should remove most stains. If not, move on to Step 2 and if necessary, onto Step 3.
  • Step 2: Using a damp cloth or sponge with standard Fantastik Brand or Formula 409 Brand cleaner, lightly wipe for 10 to 20 strokes.
  • Step 3: Place a cloth or sponge damp with 70% Isopropyl Alcohol on top of the stain for 30 minutes then remove and wipe. This should remove makeup, ball-point ink, and other stubborn stains. If stain persists, repeat Step 3 until stain is removed.

Disinfecting Thermofoil Surfaces

A mixture of 10% bleach, 90% water can be used on most thermofoil surfaces. Before using the mixture on an entire surface, be sure to test it on a non-visual spot.

Cleaners to Avoid on Laminate Products

  • Any abrasive cleaner
  • Most solvent based cleaners and harsh chemicals such as sink and toilet bowl cleaners
  • Any cleaner in combination with a brush
  • Cleaners containing ammonia
  • Baking Soda
  • Acetone

If a harsh chemical is spilled on a thermofoil surface, wipe it up immediately. Then wash the surface with soapy water and rinse several times.

Laminate Product Limitations

Thermofoil products are not intended for use as cutting surfaces. Do not place hot pans onto thermofoil surfaces. Laminate products are not intended for use in exterior applications.

Hardware

Our hinging system allows you to easily adjust any door as required. Our drawer slide systems are designed to give you a lifetime of functionality.

Scratches, Chips, Dents

It’s practically impossible to prevent scratches, chips and dents over years of use. Touch-up putty sticks and marking pens are available through your dealer to help you make minor repairs.

Proper Storage and Environmental Controls: Humidity

Wood is like a sponge. It can absorb moisture or dry out, depending on the environment. Excessive humidity can result in warpage and expanding of the wood. Also, a lack of sufficient humidity during the winter heating season can cause shrinkage of the wood. This is especially true on solid wood doors. We recommend a complete heating and cooling cycle to allow doors to adjust to your home’s environment. It is important to control the humidity in your home all year round, especially if you have a fireplace or a wood stove. Mouser cabinetry is to be stored or installed in an environment with a constant Humidity level of 38% – 48%.

Caution!

Self-cleaning appliances generate intense heat during a cleaning cycle and the integrity of the appliance seal or gasket may be compromised with age, improper installation, etc. We recommend the removal of doors and/or drawers from our wood cabinets and laminate products adjacent to, or directly above, an appliance during a cleaning cycle to prevent possible finish or surface damage.

Limitations

This warranty shall become void if the cabinets, cabinetwork, drawer slides or hinges are modified from its original form, improperly installed or damaged prior to or during the installation, or used in any way other than for residential purposes. This warranty covers only parts and materials of the cabinets as supplied by Fabuwood. This warranty does not cover any products used or installed in connection with cabinets, such as gas or electric appliances, countertops, or plumbing fixtures. It also does not cover Blum hinges or any other third-party manufactured accessories or enhancements.

This warranty does not apply to products installed in locations that do not maintain year-round environmental controls. This warranty shall not apply to damages caused by transportation, storage, dirt, chemicals, exposure to moisture, humidity or excessive heat or cold, nor does it cover the effects arising from normal wear and tear, misuse, neglect, accidents, alterations, improper use or failure to maintain properly, house settling, or acts of God. No installer, retailer, distributor, agent or employee of Fabuwood has the authority to alter the obligations or limitations in this warranty.

Quality Standards

This warranty covers all damages and unnatural defects that are deemed as such under the Fabuwood Quality Standards. The Fabuwood Quality Standards, which will be provided to you by your Fabuwood dealer upon request, should be reviewed at the time a claim for warranty service is being considered. Fabuwood reserves the right to modify or change the Fabuwood Quality Standards at any time without notice.

Disclaimers

The following is a brief recap of some of the characteristics of the wood and finishes on the cabinets you are about to purchase. Please read them carefully. If some of these characteristics concern you, please choose something else. We bring these characteristics to your attention so you will realize that Fabuwood will not be held responsible for these variations in your cabinetry. It is important to note that wood products claimed as defective are most often the result of atmospheric conditions such as excess moisture and humidity. Fabuwood strongly recommends testing the intended location of the products for such conditions prior to installation.

WOOD AND COLOR VARIATIONS: Wood is a product of nature, and since no two trees are alike, cabinets may vary in color, texture and grain. Wood characteristics naturally occurring such as variations in color, grain, mineral streaks, pinholes and knots are not considered defects. Color variations in cabinets are also a natural occurrence due to species, age, character of cabinets, and exposure to UV light, smoke, certain household cleaners, sunlight, extreme temperatures, and other environmental conditions. For these reasons, new and/or replacement cabinets may not match display samples and/or existing cabinets. This may result in overall color variations and is not considered a defect.

WOOD DOORS, DRAWER FRONTS, AND FACE FRAMES: Wood by nature will undergo expansion and contraction movements over the years as it compensates and adjusts to ever changing atmospheric humidity and temperature conditions. It is very common for center panels on doors to shrink, expand or move during these changes. Typically, the panel will return to its normal position within a year once it has adjusted to seasonal changes. It is for these same reasons that it is very common for doors to warp during these periods. Doors that are warped up to ¼” are not considered defective. [Note: It is advisable to check if the door was properly installed, since doors that appear warped are very often the result of improper installation.] Painted doors, drawer fronts, and face frames may eventually have visible cracking around the joint areas, and cabinet colors may darken or lighten over time. These variations are considered to be the nature of the material in relation to their environmental exposure and are not covered under this Limited Lifetime Warranty.

PAINTED FINISHES: Plywood is a non-porous, smooth grained wood. Additionally, wood by nature undergoes periods of expansion and contraction while it adjusts to atmospheric conditions mentioned above. As such, finish stress lines may become visible on painted cabinets especially at the joints. Any such occurrence is not considered a defect.

GLAZED FINISHES: A glazed finish by character is an uneven finish. Some edges and profiles will be larger than others and glazing may vary cabinet to cabinet, door to drawer and item to item. This may result in overall color, texture, and finish variations but these are not considered defects.

Warranty Performance

If a defect does occur within the terms and conditions of this warranty such defective part will be repaired or replaced by Fabuwood at its sole discretion. Fabuwood will not provide or pay for the cost of removal of defective product, transportation of defective, repaired or replaced product or installation of repaired or replaced product. If it is not commercially feasible to repair or replace a defective product, we may refund the original price paid by you for the defective product or provide a credit towards a similar type of product sold by us. Fabuwood will not be responsible for any shipping damages to the defective, replaced or repaired product. If defective item has been discontinued or is not available at the time, Fabuwood reserves the right to replace the item with the most similar item available in Fabuwood’s inventory at that time. Fabuwood reserves the right to alter design, specifications and material without obligation to make similar changes to products previously manufactured. Fabuwood cannot guarantee that the finish of any replacement will exactly match the finish and appearance of the defective item due to the natural ageing process of the wood and finishes of the cabinets. Fabuwood may require at its discretion that the customer submit a clear photo, or that a company representative inspect the item being claimed before honoring this warranty.

For a warranty claim made by the First Residential Purchaser to be considered, please contact the original Fabuwood-authorized dealer, who must file the claim through the Fabuwood EZ pricing system. Cabinet Care

Congratulations upon your purchase of a Fabuwood kitchen. You have chosen quality and style and we are proud to have brought it to you. We are positive you will enjoy your kitchen. To ensure your cabinets retain their beauty, follow these simple instructions for their care:

  • Avoid damaging your stains and finish by blotting the cabinet surface instead of wiping when wet.
  • Be sure to use only mild cleaners when cleaning cabinet surfaces.
  • Cleaning products should never be sprayed directly onto the wood. Apply product to a cleaning cloth instead.
  • Damp soft cloths should be used to clean cabinets on a regular basis.
  • Excess water should be dried immediately to avoid water damage to cabinet finishes.
  • Food should never be left open in cabinets. Keep food tightly sealed to avoid attracting unwanted guests!
  • Great organization is key! Invest in some cabinet organizers such as spice racks, modular containers, and labels.

Cleaning Tips

General Cleaning

VIATERA is resistant to most stains including wine, lemon juice, tea, coffee, and fruits and vegetables. Normal cleaning requires only a damp cloth and a mild household detergent (such as those listed below). For best results, clean spills as soon as possible and dry the surface with a soft towel.

Spills & Stains

While VIATERA is stain-resistant, some stains are more difficult to remove than others. Mild non-abrasive cleansers help to restore the original appearance. For dried spills, a non-abrasive scrub pad can be used. For substances such as paint, gum, or food, carefully use a razor blade to scrape away the residue prior to cleaning. The scraping may leave a grey metal mark on the surface which can be easily cleaned using a cleanser and non-abrasive pad. For stubborn spots or stains, apply a pad of soaked paper towels and approved cleanser to the area and allow it to sit for a few minutes then proceed with necessary cleaning methods and buffing. Rinse thoroughly and hand-dry to remove cleaning residues.

Cleaning Products

Some generally accepted cleaning products for routine “Care and Maintenance” of VIATERA include:

  • Windex Multi-Surface Cleaner
  • Simple Green (lime-scale remover)
  • Diluted vinegar-type cleaners
  • Greased Lightning
  • Formula 409 Glass and Surface Cleaner
  • Lysol products

VIATERA is not indestructible!

VIATERA is one of the toughest countertop surfaces available, but a few things that can damage it. Avoid contact with harsh chemicals or solvents, especially those containing trichlorethane or methylene chloride, (found in furniture strippers and oven cleaners), as well as products containing bleach. These substances can cause permanent discoloration and surface damage. In the event any of these agents come in contact with the surface, wipe immediately, rinse with water, and then clean with vinegar-based cleaner. If stain persists, contact the supplier/installer of your VIATERA surface. Do not use abrasive and/or alkaline cleaning products or materials (Ajax, Comet, etc. and some 3M Scotch Brite pads), as they can permanently dull the surface. When trying a new cleaning product test it on an inconspicuous area first. Always thoroughly rinse and dry the surface by hand when finished. Excessive/prolonged heat can damage your VIATERA surface — always use a trivet between the countertop and any hot cookware or heat source (electric frying pans, etc.). While VIATERA is scratch-resistant, some materials can cause scratching. For example, the bottom of some ceramic or earthenware dishes may be abrasive enough to cause minor damage to the surface. Also, VIATERA can be chipped or cracked if it is heavily impacted, particularly on an edge.

Daltile 1-Year Limited Warranty

Daltile warrants that manufactured products will be free from defect for a period of one year from date of purchase. Defect is defined as a shortfall in the product to perform to Daltile specifications as disclosed in product literature, within industry-allowable tolerances as set forth in standard, national industry protocols. THIS ONE-YEAR EXPRESS WARRANTY IS THE SOLE WARRANTY EXTENDED AND REPLACES ANY STATUTORY WARRANTIES TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT ALLOWABLE BY LAW. Customer misuse including negligence, physical, or chemical abuse is not covered by this warranty. Installation defects are not covered by this warranty. All warranty claims must be reported immediately. Failure to report any warranty claim within 30 days of defect discovery will void this warranty. All products must be inspected prior to installation. Visual defects or nonconformities apparent prior to installation voids this warranty.
Tile is subject to variation in technical specifications, including DCOF, due to inherent variability in the raw materials and production process. Express technical specifications are not guarantees of minimum or maximum thresholds of performance. Tile containing abrasives create a rough surface, creating cleaning challenges because dirt and other contaminants lodge in the surface. Extra attention is necessary to ensure contaminants are removed promptly. Unless specifically stated otherwise, tile recommended for floor or wall applications refers to interior applications only. Daltile does not recommend its products for use on ceilings or roofs. Local building codes may dictate minimum tile performance specifications. Daltile does not warrant product installations that violate building codes. Photographic color images may not be an exact product match. Product samples are representative only. Express color match warranties are only extended to actual product samples.’

Other Daltile Warranties

Implied Warranties Limited in Duration and Scope

Any implied warranty applicable to the product sale, including the implied warranty of merchantability or the implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose is limited in duration to the duration of this written warranty or the maximum statutory period, whichever is less. Some states do not allow limitations on implied warranty duration, so the above limitation may not apply to you.

The Federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act limits disclaimers of implied warranties involving consumer products. To the maximum extent allowable by federal and state law, this warranty supplements or supersedes federal and state consumer goods warranty protections.

Implied Warranty of Fitness for a Particular Purpose

Daltile provides detailed information in its product literature with regard to appropriate tile and stone applications. In these specified applications, Daltile limits the duration of the implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose to one year or the maximum statutory period prescribed by law, whichever is less. Failure to comply with recommended applications voids this warranty.

Natural stone products are mined and cut from natural formations. Because these products are not subject to a manufacturing process, quality warranties are limited to the specified representations in product literature and guidelines established by the Marble Institute of America. Daltile does not warrant natural stone products for shade, size, thickness, warping, cleft variations, surface finish variations, or other natural variances on stone products.

Remedy Limitation and Disclaimer

If a defect in materials or workmanship is discovered within the one-year period, Daltile will either refund the price of the product or provide a replacement product after a reasonable number of attempts to remedy product defects. Buyer’s remedy is limited to replacement or repair of the defective product. No consequential (including, but not limited to, lost profits) or incidental damages are recoverable. Daltile disclaims all express warranties not contained in this limited express warranty. Any representations made in connection with the sale of this product that differs from the terms of this warranty are not valid and should be brought to the attention of Daltile immediately (1-800-933-TILE).

Legal Notice: Warning Tile and installation products contain chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer, birth defects, reproductive harm, respiratory harm or other health problems. For more product-specific information on chemical content, obtain an MSDS at Daltile.com or contact Daltile at 1-800-833-TILE.

To Make a Claim

1. The original purchaser must notify a Daltile Sales Service Center or an authorized representative in writing within 30 days of the occurrence of any defect.

2. After notification, Daltile or an authorized representative will inspect and/or test the product for defect and complete a Product Claim Action form. No claim will be honored without product inspection by Daltile or an authorized representative.

3. Upon determination that the product defect claim is valid, Daltile will notify the purchaser in writing. Daltile reserves the right to repair, replace or refund the originally purchased product, at its sole discretion.

ROUTINE CARE & CLEANING

Quartz can be cleaned easily with a mild detergent, water and a soft cloth or paper towel, then rinse and dry thoroughly. Abrasive cleansers or harsh scouring pads and cleansers that contain bleach should not be used with quartz. Engineered stone surfaces do not require polishing to keep them shiny and smooth, but they should be cleaned gently to maintain their distinctive shine. Some quartz colors and finishes liked honed, matte, etc., are more sensitive to grease or finger-prints and may require extra care during routine cleaning.

Avoid using metal knives and utensils directly on the countertop, as metal may scratch the quartz. When chopping vegetables, slicing bread or preparing other foods with sharp utensils, use a cutting board to prevent scratches.

To remove grease from your quartz countertops, use a product recommended for stone care. Harsh cleansers should not be used to remove grease or other cooking stains. Gently scrape away hardened grease with a plastic knife before applying cleanser.

STAINS AND SCRATCHES

For stubborn or dried spills, use a nonabrasive cleaning pad such as a white 3M Scotch-Brite® scrub pad combined with a small amount of mild soap or specialized stone cleaner.

While quartz countertops are resistant to scratches, scuffs, dents, stains and burns, these surfaces are not damage-proof. Homeowners must take care to avoid exposing quartz countertops to permanent inks, markers or dyes, as these substances may not be removable. If a countertop is marked by a permanent marker or dye, rinse the area with water as soon as possible, then apply a cleansing product approved for stone care if the stain is still visible. Clean the area again with water after applying the cleanser.

Although quartz is resistant to stains from juice, wine, coffee and other food substances, it is best to wipe up spills immediately to prevent possible stains. Do not use metal utensils or knives directly on the quartz surface.

PREVENTING CHEMICAL DAMAGE

Avoid exposing One Quartz Surfaces® to chemicals and solvents, especially paint removers or furniture strippers containing trichlorethane or methylene chloride. Avoid contact with nail polish remover, bleach or cleansers that contain bleach, bluing, permanent markers or inks. While casual exposure to alkaline materials will not damage quartz surfaces, highly alkaline (high-pH) cleansers are not recommended when cleaning. If any of the substances listed above come into contact with quartz, rinse the exposed surface immediately and thoroughly with plenty of clean water.

AVOID HEAT DAMAGE

Quartz countertops can be damaged by direct exposure to heat. When cooking, use trivets or heating pads to guard the countertop surface against direct exposure to hot cookware or coffee pots.

PROTECTING QUARTZ SURFACES

Quartz product does not require sealants, and its non-porous surface makes it a durable, sanitary option for kitchens or bathrooms. To ensure that you get the most life from your countertops and that your warranty covers any unexpected damages, follow the manufacturer’s instructions for care and maintenance of quartz countertop.

To get the maximum use from this investment, choose quartz countertops that are covered by a warranty. A manufacturer’s warranty will replace or repair a countertop if it shows evidence of a manufacturer’s defect. With a reliable warranty and proper care, quartz is a safe countertop investment.
